The Coretrax® Mechanical MACS™ (Multi Activation Circulation Sub) is a mid-string circulating tool which can be run in milling, drilling and wellbore clean-up strings. It is activated by setting down weight on the liner top with a string mill or PBR mill or by tagging TD. The Mechanical MACS™ has two primary positions, stroked open allows fluid flow to be fully directed through the ports and into the annulus providing an increased TFA when required. The second position, where the tool is stroked closed, allows full circulation through the entire string.
The Mechanical MACS™ is pinned up so that it cannot function while running in. Once the land out sub below has tagged the liner top and the shear pins have been sheared, the tool can be opened and closed an unlimited number of times by setting down weight and picking back up. The Mechanical MACS™ requires no rotation to function.
