The Problem
A situation everyone has been in; drilling new wells in areas with pre-existing wellbores already present with little separation between them, and the possibility of an incident occurring because of this.
While drilling the top hole section, those surrounding wellbores will provide (strong) magnetic interference, rendering magnetic based guidance systems such as MWDs useless, or inaccurate at best.
