Connections and Y-Splitter Multi-Drop Gauge System
The Tendeka electrical monitoring system comprises a range of downhole pressure gauges and surface equipment which provide high-resolution permanent monitoring of well pressure, temperature and performance.
Downhole Connector: Y-Splitter for Multi- Drop System
Tendeka’s Y-splitter provides a robust and secure means of connecting two 0.25” TEC cables into one 0.25” TEC cable using pressure testable connections. The primary use of the Y-splitter is to allow multiple gauges to be powered and read from a single TEC cable.
Where multiple gauges are required, the Y-splitter is mounted on the full body gauge carrier just above the gauge. One of the ‘down cables’ is fed through to the gauge, while the other is fed through a slot in the carrier down to the gauge below.
Additional gauges may be added by repeating the above. The Y-Splitter is secured to the gauge carrier using two screw-head bolts.
In the event that the TEC is damaged during installation, the in-line splice kit provides a compact and reliable means of splicing the TEC back together. This is available for Inconnel and SS316 TEC cables and has a pressure testable option to ensure a successful splice is achieved.
