Stroker services
Manipulating sliding sleeve doors and changing gas lift valves in deviated wells has previously been done by coiled tubing which are expensive and time-consuming operations. With the introduction of the PowerTrac® Advance™ Stroker service, we can offer clients an alternative solution which will save both time, money and has a great HSE advantage compared to traditional coiled tubing operations.

The PowerTrac® Advance (PTA) Stroker is a powerful tool that can perform numerous operations downhole, different types are available and can be configured according to operational targets. The PTA® Stroker can be deployed on standard mono-conductor cables and is fully compatible with the PowerTrac® Advance Tractors. The PTA® Stroker is surface-controlled via a laptop and a single power source, requiring little preparation and rig-up time.

All strokers are equipped with position control, enabling the operator to monitor and control the stroking action ensuring optimal setting / pulling operations. In addition, the strokers are available with electrical feed-through which makes it possible to perform logging and other e-line operations below the stroker. In addition to setting and retrieval of plugs the PTA® Stroker can be used in conjuction with other tools expanding the range of service applications:

With the Hydraulic Shifting Tool (HST) it is possible to shift sliding sleeve doors (SSD) in both directions – repeatedly – in one run. This will save the client for both time and money as the operation requires less rig-time and runs compared to conventional methods as coiled tubing.

ALTUS Intervention’ modified Kick Over Tool (KOT) has a patented re-inforced kick-over mechanism making us able to set and retrieve GLVs and CIVs in highly deviated sections of a well. This makes it possible to position GLVs where it is most benefitial from a production point of view and not being restricted by well deviation in order to optimize production.
