ALTUS Intervention has extensive experience in performing well intervention operations on subsea wells and other subsea structures. The range of equipment and personnel available enables activities from well construction through to well abandonment plus pipeline operations from initial pre-commissioning and maintenance, through to final decommissioning.
We work closely with vessel owners and operators to build, install or retrofit well services equipment into the superstructure of new build and existing vessels. This increases the operability of the vessel whist providing additional deck space for a complementary range of services.
We are at the forefront of subsea well intervention from Light Well Intervention Vessels (LWIV), partnering with the leading monohulled light well intervention vessel companies and through the supply of bespoke equipment. The ability to provide unique innovative motion compensated surface deployment systems for intervention operations ensures the available weather window is maximised in harsh operating provinces. Our experienced in-house engineering team work with the operations teams to produce cost effective solutions which enables the deployment of well service tools into subsea wells whether in open water or in riser.
We have recently introduced the Tension Adjusted Levelwind Operating System (TALOS), a suite of next generation coil tubing equipment allowing subsea intervention from a monohulled LWIV, which was previously only accessible from a mobile offshore drilling unit. Each unit has been designed to the highest legislative standard and incorporates many unique features specific to LWIV operations. In particular the reduction of induced fatigue to a level as seen on static installations is achieved by utilising a synchronised injector system which ensures the coil remains within the elastic radius and out with plastic deformation during operations. Another feature of the system is an extended gooseneck which aids the managent of fatigue which is particularly important from monohulled vessels where the cycles are more frequent to that of a mobile drilling unit.
